The ThermaDoor panel was thermally neutral — not absorbing heat, not radiating it back into the garage. The bare metal panels were acting as radiant heaters, pumping infrared energy into the space regardless of the season.
This was not a summer heatwave reading. These readings were taken on an ordinary July winter day in Melbourne. The sun was hitting the door and driving the uninsulated panel surface to nearly 48°C even in the middle of winter. The garage door has no off season.

The Full Door After Installation

Once John completed the full installation, he pointed the FLIR camera at the entire door.
